Built two decades ago, the Mar Gregorios Orthodox Church at Janakpuri in West Delhi District belongs to the old Apostolic Church of India, one of the five Oriental Orthodox Churches of Afro-Asia. The church is named after Mar Gregorios of Parumala, Kerala, a 19th century holy man. The church was consecrated in 1980. In addition to the spiritual activities, the Mar Gregorios Orthodox Church takes part in social activities such as medical camps, literacy programs, blood donation camps and recreation programs for jail inmates.
