Manora

Manora is an eight-story victory tower situated just 13 km from Pudukkottai, in Tamil Nadu. Formerly known as Minaret (meaning small minar), it was built by the Maratha King Serfoji. The tower was built in 1814 AD in memory of the victory of the British over Napoleon Bonaparte at Waterloo. From this 30-meter high tower one can have a panoramic view of the Palm-fringed Bay of Bengal. Manora serves as the light house.
