Manjushri Lha khang




The temple of Manjushri, also known as Jampe Lhakhang, is at Alchi in Leh District. The temple is supposed to dates back to twelfth or thirteenth centuries. It is near to the Lotsawa Lha Khang.

This square shaped temple houses four images of Manjushri, a celebrated Bodhisattva. The murals of the temple follow the theme of the thousand Buddha while gods and goddesses dominate the wall space.
