This village is included in Vaikom taluk. Major point of attraction here is the Velacherry Devi Temple. Thousands of devotees throng during Prathishatadina Festival, which is held annually at the temple in the month of May.
There is an old market called Kuruppanthara Market. Vaikom Mahadevar Temple is a nearby excursion.
