Manirtat




Manirtat is about 70 km south of Kolkata, in the district of South 24 Parganas. Kasinagar is to the north.

Manirtat is also considered one of the important sites to have yielded large number of Cast Copper Coins - the most prominent early Bengal coins.

Other places of tourist interest include Kultali - the largest island in Sunderbans - Gosaba, Basanti, Kulpi, Jatar Deul and Sajnakhali Bird Sanctuary. Major airport and railway station close to the town are Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport and Sealdah Railway Station.
