Manipal



The renowned center of learning, Manipal town, was founded by Dr Tonse Madhav Pai. This laterite hilltop township nestles between the hill ranges of the Western Ghats and the blue waters of the Arabian Sea. Besides educational institutions, the town has medical, banking, printing and industrial enterprises of national repute. The major tourist hot spots are Smriti Bhavan, End Point, Brindavan Garden and Venugopalakrishna Temple.

This international university town is well linked by road, rail and air. Nearest railway junctions are at Udupi and Mangalore - 5 km and 65 km respectively from Manipal. There are buses operating from Mangalore and Udupi to this town. Mangalore Bajpe Airport is the nearest airport.
