Mangala Devi Temple




Situated at an altitude of 1337 m above the sea level, Mangala Devi Temple is dedicated to Goddess Mangala. The temple lies in Kerala-Tamil Nadu boundary and is 13 km from Kumily. Built in the Pandian style of architecture, this ancient temple stands amidst thick forest. Devotees from in and around Thekkady throng this place on the Chithra Pournami festival day which held once in a year.

Special permission is required from the Chief Conservator of Forests, Vazhuthacaud, Thiruvananthapuram to pay a visit to the temple. The temple can be reached only by means of jeeps from Kumily.
