Mangadu




Mangadu, the suburb of Chennai, is situated 20 km southwest of Chennai. It is believed that, the Goddess Kamakshi is said to have performed severe penance in the midst of Panchagni, at this place. Vallisvarar Temple, Kamakshiamman Temple, Mariamman Temple and Vishnu temple are located in Mangadu. Among these, Kamakshiamman temple is the famous one.

Accommodation facilities are available at nearby hotels. The nearest airport is the Chennai International Airport, 7 km south of the city. Mangadu is well connected with Chennai by road. The Chennai Central Railway Station serves this area.
