Manda is a unique festival celebrated by both tribes and non-tribes of
Jharkhand. Tedious rituals such as walking bare footed on burning coal, to hook one’s body with iron-hooks and to hang on high–polls called Charka Dag Machan are included in this festival. Apart from this, the devotees fast on this occasion and holds water and rice in a pot over their shoulder. This fair is usually organized at night.
