Manamelkudi




Manamelkudi is a village in Avudaiyarkoil Taluk of Pudukkottai District, positioned along the Bay of Bengal. The village is well connected to other parts of the district by road.

It is believed that Lord Ram tried to cross the Bay of Bengal from Manamelkudi. This place is also famous as the birth place of Sri Kulachchirai Nayanar, one of the 64 Nayanmars born in Manamelkudi. The village is about 40 km away from Aranthangi. Jagatheswara temple is the famous Hindu temple at this village. The major festivals are Chitra Pournami, Navratri and Kulachchirai Nayanar anniversary.
