Manali Sanctuary

Manali Sanctuary is 2 km from Manali, a popular tourist spot in Himachal Pradesh. One of the major attractions of Kullu District, the sanctuary forms the catchment of Manalsu Khad.

The sanctuary has been developed to create awareness and love for wildlife among the people and to expose the beauty of the nature to the visitors. Musk deer, snow leopard, monal and brown bear are the animals spotted here.

The dense forest adjoining the sanctuary comprises deodar kail, walnut and maple trees. Alpine lush green pastures and glaciers add to the scenic beauty. One can see herds of Ibex while climbing up the snow in the glacier zone during summer.

Night stay in tents at Lambadug or Gallant thatch provides memorable experience. Dhungri Temple is nearby.
