Mamit is the seat of administration of Mamit District, Mizoram. It is a charming town in the hills, perched at an altitude of 2956 ft above the sea level. Mamit is 30 km north-west of Aizawl.

Nearest airport is at Imphal. Silchar Railway Station serves Mamit.
