Mamal Shiva Temple




Mamal Shiva Temple is opposite to the Rest House at Pahalgam in Srinagar District, Jammu and Kashmir. The temple is an ancient one dating back to the 5th century and is on the banks of the Lidder River. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. A shivling is installed inside the sanctum. Even though a large part of the temple is in ruins, devotees coming to this temple are numerous. This temple is reckoned to be the oldest existing temple in Kashmir.

The nearest railhead is Jammu Tawi and the airport is Srinagar Airport, 14 km from the city. Pahalgam is well connected by road with Srinagar.
