Malhar is a popular variety of folk song, sung in parts of western Uttar Pradesh. This variety of song forms the highlight of the monsoon season. These songs, sung in Braj language, are themed around the legendary love of Lord Krishna and his beloved Radha. The songs are very melodious. Malhar songs usually describe a scene of Radha-Krishna on a swing enjoying the beauty of monsoon season.
