Malgund

Malgund is a small village situated just a kilometer away from Ganpatipule, in Ratnagiri District, Maharashtra. The place is famous as the birthplace of the famous Marathi poet Keshavsoot.

The ‘Keshavsoot Smarak’, constructed by the Marathi Sahitya Parishad (Marathi Literature Society) in memory of Keshavsoot, is worth visiting.

The poet’s house was recently renovated and converted into a student's hostel.

Bhoke Railway Station is the nearest railhead, while Ratnagiri Railway Station, on the Konkan Railways, is the convenient access point.
