Malaprabha River




Malaprabha River originates in the Western Ghats, at an altitude of 792 m above the sea level. After traveling east and then in north-east direction, the river eventually joins the river Krishna at Kudala Sangama. The length of the river is about 304 km.

The Bennihalla, Hirehalla and the Tas Nadi are the main tributaries. These rivers have a total catchment area of about 11,549 sq km in Karnataka.
