Mahavishnu Temple

Noorani Ayyappa Temple



Mahavishnu Temple lies at Noorani Village near Palakkad. The presiding deities of the temple are Ayyappa Swamy (Lord Ayyappa) and Azhaguperuma (Lord Vishnu). The sastha is also known by the name Purnapuskalambha Sametha Harahara Putra. The idol was found from the hilltop.

Another deity of the temple is Lord Ganesh, which is installed both on the south-west corner and also on the south of the temple. The former faces to the east whereas the latter towards the south blessing the residents of Double Street. To the north-western side there is an image of Lord Hanuman. Brindalakshmi (Tulsi plant) surrounded by nagas are also placed within the temple complex.

Near the temple there is a mutt for conducting Bhajans, named as Gopalkrishna Bhajana Madam. Bhajans are conducted on Saturdays and Ekadasis, Ram Navami and Krisnaashtami.
