Maharaja's Palace is an impressive structure located in
Chamba,
Himachal Pradesh. This palace was built in 1891 by the rulers of Chamba.
Among the buildings, the Rang Mahal (also the Painted Palace) with towers on either side is most interesting. The walls are decorated with murals depicting episodes from the Ramayana and the Mahabharata.
Chamba is about 50 km east of Dalhousie. Pathankot Railway Station, 118 km away, is the nearest railhead.
