Mahamati Prannathji Temple

Mahamati Prannathji Temple is a beautiful shrine situated at Panna, in Madhya Pradesh. Completed in 1692 AD, it is the most important temple of 'pranamies' which reflects their social and religious life. It is believed that Prannathji lived here and thus became the highest Pranami Teerth as Mahamati's Punyasthali.

The spherical central dome of the temple resembles Muslim architecture and the lotus form on this dome is constructed in traditional Hindu architecture. The divine golden kalash is accompanied by the divine panja which denotes Mahamati's blessing and signifies the Aksharatita Purna Brahman. The main entrance of central dome is called Kaman Darwaza, made of silver. Thousands of people gather here to celebrate the Mahotsava on Sharad Poornima.
