Mahakavi Kumaran Asan Smarakam

Mahakavi Kumaran Asan Smarakam is among the few monuments built in commemoration of the great Malayalam poet Kumaran Asan. Kayikkara, which holds the smarakam, is also the birth place of this great poet. The smarakam is managed by Kumaran Asan Memorial Committee.

There is a reading room, which has a good collection of his poems. Kaviarang (congregation of poets) is held on his birth anniversary (12th April) and on special days. Admission to the smarakam is free and is open to the public on all days.

Varkala Railway Station helps in the accessibility.
