Mahakavi Kumaran Asan Smarakam

Mahakavi Kumaran Asan Smarakam is situated opposite to A J College of Science and Technology at Thonnakkal, near Mangalapuram in Thiruvananthapuram District. It is one of the important monuments, which were built in commemoration of the great Malayalam poet Kumaran Asan.

The smarakam, managed by Kumaran Asan Memorial Committee, is a building with a beautiful lawn and a garden. There is a library, which has a good collection of his poems. Every year, Kaviarang (congregation of poets) is organized here on Kerala Piravi (1st November) and on his birthday (12th April). The smarakam is open to the public on all days and admission is free.

The nearest railhead is Chirayinkil Railway Station. Trivandrum International Airport is around 23 km away.
