Madurai Kaliamman Temple




Madurai Kaliamman Temple is an ancient shrine situated at Thottiam, in Tiruchirapalli District of Tamil Nadu. The presiding deity here is Goddess Kali, known here as Madurai Kaliamman. The temple, surrounded by lush green fields, has a 3 tier tower, 27 pillar mandapam and a 5 pillar Ardhamandapam. The temple boasts large number of sculptural carvings.

Navratri and Mahashivaratri are the major festivals celebrated here amid much religious fervor.
