Madmaheshwar




Madmaheshwar is a beautiful village in Rudraprayag District of Uttaranchal. It is situated at an altitude of around 10,400 ft above sea level and is noted for its serene atmosphere. Ukhimath, a major Hindu pilgrim site famous as the winter seat of Lord Kedarnath, is easily accessible from here.

The place is famous for the Madmaheshwar Temple, a highly revered shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. Dolda Tibba, a beautiful peak is another attraction nearby. Ransi, Raun, Kalimath, Sonprayag and Gaurikund are located around Madmaheshwar.

To reach Madmaheshwar, one has to trek from Kalimath. The nearest major railway station is Rishikesh Railway Station. Jolly Grant Airport serves this area.
