Madiyankulam Temple Festival



Madiyankulam Temple Festival is a ceremony celebrated at Madiyankulam Temple at Ajanur in Kasargod District. The temple deity is Goddess Bhadrakali.

The festival is held during the month of Dhanu (December-January) every year and is known by the names Kalasam and Pattulsavam. The festival is noted for its Bhootha dance (a dance presented by artists thought to be possessed by the deity). Theyyam is also performed during the festival. Other cultural programs and the procession on the final day make it a grand endeavor. The fireworks on the last day attract many people.
