Madhira

Madhira is a historical town in Khammam District. The town was called 'Natanati Seema' during the period of Kakatiyas. The present Madhira Muncif magistrate court and Tahsildar Office was built during the rule of Asaf Jahis. Another notable feature in Madhira is a big Jatara (festival) on the eve of Shivratri. The event is held for 9 days every year.

Madhira Railway Station, a 100-year old railway station, is on the Vijayawada-Hyderabad line. About 16 km from this railway station is the Takkellapadu village, famous for the Sri Lalitha Maha Thripura Sundari Temple.
