Maa Chanchala Devi Temple




Maa Chanchala Devi Temple is an ancient shrine situated on the Kodarma-Giridih highway, about 33 km from Kodarma in Jharkhand.

Located on a 400 ft hill, the temple is dedicated to Maa Chanchala Devi (an incarnation of Goddess Durga). Tuesday and Saturday is considered auspicious and people gather here in large numbers. Marriage ceremonies and Mundan rituals are duly performed here. The use of sindur is disallowed in this temple.

Adjacent to the hill is a big cave encompassing the rock paintings of four forms of Durga.
