M V Minicoy, an all-weather ship introduced in 2001, operates between
Kochi and
Lakshadweep Islands. This cruise is run by SPORTS (Society for Promotion of Nature Tourism and Sports), the official tourist agency of Lakshadweep Islands.
M V Minicoy can accommodate up to 150 passengers at a time. The ship has a cargo capacity of 25 MT. The passage takes between 14 to 20 hrs. The ship offers different classes of accommodation, including AC deluxe class with two berth cabins, AC first class with four berth cabins and tourist class with AC seating. Doctor-on-call service is also available.
