M K Gandhi Vidyalaya

M K Gandhi Vidyalaya (Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi Vidyalaya) is located at Rajkot. Gandhiji was admitted to this school when his father was shifted to Rajkot as the Diwan of the local ruler. At that time the school's name was Alfred School. It was here that an incident illustrating Gandhiji's truthful nature occurred. The incident was that Gandhi refused to copy the spelling of 'kettle,' despite his class teacher repeatedly prompting him to do so, during the visit of a school inspector.

Sardar Smriti Bhavan, Watson Museums and Jubliee Gardens are the nearest major attractions. Rajkot Airport and Rajkot Junction Railway Station serve this area.
