Lord Varadaraja Perumal Temple




Lord Varadaraja Perumal Temple is located at Govindraj Puram in Palakkad District. The temple is dedicated to Lord Varadaraja, another name of Lord Vishnu. Placed on the banks of the Nila River, it is one of the Vaishnavite temples in Kerala. The temple dates back to over 500 years.

The specialty of the temple is that this temple is considered to be an incarnation of Shri Varadaraja Perumal of Kanchipuram. The deity is believed to have the same power as that of Kanchipuram temple. All the ceremonies and rituals followed are also similar. The sub-deities consecrated are Lord Ganesh, Lord Ayyappa and Lord Muruga.
