Lingana Mountain

Lingana Mountain, 4,514 ft, is located in Raigad District, in the Sahyadris. A fort, built by Chhatrapati Shivaji after defeating Chandrarao, is located here. In 1818, the British captured this fort and destroyed it. The fort, now in a dilapidated state, once played a vital role to protect Raigad.

Lingana Mountain is an ideal spot for trekking and rock climbing. Borhatyachi Naal (valley) lies between the Lingana and Raylingi mountains.

Paane village, which is at the base of the mountain, is easily accessible by road from Mahad. An hour’s walk from Paane leads to the mountain.
