Lawan is a small village located 13 km to the east of Pokharan in Jaisalmer District of Rajasthan. Ten kilometers to the south-west is Ujlan. Some of the other neighboring places include Bara Marla, Ramdevra and Khara.
Water scarcity is one of the main problems in this desert village, and they mainly depend on rain water. Most of the villagers are below poverty line.
This village lies on the road which bypasses National Highway 15 between Pokaran and Phalodi. The nearest airport is Jaisalmer Airport. Ashapura Gomat Railway Station serves Lawan.
