Landour




Landour is an unexploited hill station located in the Himalayan foothills in Mussoorie. Landour is the oldest inhabited place in Mussorie.This picturesque spot is surrounded by deodar and oak forests. It is an ideal haunt for nature lovers. Sometimes in the evenings, a strange band of color stretches across the sky. Apart from Landour, this type of phenomena can be seen only in Scandinavia and South Africa. Lal Tibba, the highest point in Musoorie, is located in Landour area.

There is an ancient church called Christ Church built in 1837. Other attractions include a library, club and a mall. Landour has many guest houses that offer comfortable accommodation.

The Landour cemetery is old and famous, with some of the gravestones nearly two centuries old. The British troops used to come to Landour to recover from any illnesses they had. Landour is an ideal destination for those who love the mountain air.
