Lamgao

Lamgao is between Maem and Bicholim, on the Tivim-Onda road, in North Goa District. The name of this village literally means 'abode of the Lamas'. Bicholim is roughly 1 km away and Piligao is 5 km south.

Lamgao is famed for the Lamgao Caves. These incomplete rock- cut caves were used by Buddhist saints for meditation. It is believed that the Pandavas stayed here during their period of exile.

Some other tourist destinations nearby include Sanquelim Fort, Mayem Lake and Arvalem Waterfalls.

Tivim Railway Station and Goa Airport are the main access points.
