Lakshminarayana Temple

Lakshminarayana Temple, dedicated to Lakshminarayana, is a trikutachala or a three-celled temple in the village of Hosaholalu, 3 km east of Krishnarajapet. This 13th century Hoysala temple with its exquisite carvings challenges the famous temples at Somanathapur, Nuggehalli, Javagal, Hirenallur and Aralukuppe.

Built on a star-shaped, raised platform, it has three cells and pillared-hall in the middle. The sanctum sanctorum has the idol of Lakshminarayana. The external walls are decorated with intricate carvings depicting stories from Hindu mythology.

Hosaholalu, 20 km west of Melkote, is linked by good transport facilities from Mandya and Krishnarajapet.
