Lakhandai rises in the hills south-west of Sidhuli Garhi. It traverses through the districts of
Muzaffarpur and
Darbhanga. During its course, the river rises and falls quickly and its current is rapid in the upper reaches. Finally, it merges with the Bhurengi.
