Laharia

Laharia is a process of creating patterns on clothes. This technique is used in Rajasthan. It employs the tie-and-dye technique.

Laharia literally means waves. This is reflected in the patterns produced by the technique, which are wavy in style. The designs are symbolic to water waves and are preferred during the monsoon season. Clothes featuring these designs are mostly worn during festive occasions or during outings.
