Lagam

Lagam is located in West Kameng District of Arunachal Pradesh. It is about 15 km from Dirang.

This picturesque village is perched at an altitude of 8,684 ft. A river flows nearby and the entire area is covered by forests of bamboo and cane. Small colorful birds and equally beautiful Buddhist flags welcome one to this village. Phancharsa, near the village, is noted for its moss covered ground and huge trees.

The main attraction in Lagam is a gompa in an unusual color combination of white and orange. Inside there is a large upright statue of Jambay. There are a couple of attractive Tibetan amulet boxes and a very old looking manuscript, supposedly written on bark.

Tezpur Airport is the nearest airport. Tezpore Railway Station serves Lagam.
