This temple is believed to have been built during the reign of Pratihara Mihira Bhoja, around the 9th century. It has a tri-ratha pyramidical Shikhara of horizontal tiers, which belongs to the Kadamba type. The temple consists of a sanctum with a pancha-ratha Shikhara, a vestibule and a porch.

Pathari is located 50 km west of Damoh.
