Kushaleswar Temple

A well known Shaivite center, Kushaleswar Temple is situated on the bank of the river Kusai in Deogaon. Built during the 9th century, the temple enshrines the presiding deity Kushaleswar, Lord Shiva, to the east, Parvati to the north, Lord Kartikeya and Bhairava to the west and Lord Ganesh to the south. Another important monument on the river is a stone embankment, the second of its kind in the state, which is believed to have been constructed to save the temple from corrosion. Thousands throng here to see the fair on shivratri.

Kushaleswar Temple is situated at a distance of 90 km from Keonjhar and 8 km from Anandapur.
