Kurumkuzhal

Kurumkuzhal is a short wind instrument mainly used in temple rituals of Kerala. It resembles a shorter version of Nadaswaram. The pipe has a relatively sharp note and is used with the Chenda.

Kurumkuzhal usually keeps time during Chendavadyam. Traditional verse-drama forms of Kerala such as Koodiyattam and Koothu also use this instrument for accompaniment, though rare.
