Kunjpura

Kunjpura is a village, located about 12 km north-east of Karnal, in Karnal District of Haryana. It was founded by Nijabat Khan, who served as Risaldar under Wazir Khawaja Nasiruddin of Radaur.

Nijabat got Kunjpura as a reward for his military assistance from a zamindar (land owner). After a battle with Rajputs, Nijabat Khan settled here and built a massive fort in 1729 A D. Later, Kunjpura was plundered by Martha Bhao in 1758 AD. The fort presently houses the Sainik School.

Kunjpura can be reached from Karnal Bus Station. Indira Gandhi International Airport is the nearest airport. Karnal Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
