Kunjaban Palace

Kunjaban Palace, situated on the picturesque Kunjaban Hillock, lies to the north of Ujjayanta Palace, in Agartala of Tripura. Formerly known as Pushbanta Palace, Kunjaban Palace was built by Maharaja Birendra Kishore Manikya in 1917. The maharajas and their guests used to spend their leisurely hours here.

Malanja Niwas, the eastern apartment of this palace, was the favorite place of Rabindranath Tagore and he had composed a number of songs here. The southern part of the palace is known as Rabindra Kanan and is open to the public. Well-manicured gardens and lawns add to the beauty of the palace.

Presently, Kunjaban Palace is the official residence of the governor of the state.
