Kunbi Geet is a popular folk song sung by the
Kunbi Tribe, a Christian tribe inhabiting some parts of
Goa. It is performed with the accompaniment of the ghumatt, the drum and the clang of cymbals.
Kunbi Geet is usually sung during the time of Nondnni (weeding), Mollnni (threshing) and Luvnni (harvesting). The theme of this song varies from romantic love to bitter resentment. Songs referring rain and its bounty are also sung.
