Kumbhalgarh

Kumbhalgarh is famous for the fort and wildlife sanctuary. It is situated about 80 km north of Udaipur. The fort was constructed by Maharana Kumbha in the fifteenth century. Besides the fort, scattered ancient monuments and Aravalli landscapes are also noteworthy. A picturesque view opens up from the top of Kumbhalgarh palace. The palace of Kumbhalgarh is open to the public daily from 9 am-6 pm. From the rooftop of the palace one can see the Jain and Hindu temples dotted across the plateau. To the east of the palace complex, lie the tombs of Kumbha and Prithviraj, the grand son of Kumbha.

To the west of the fort, one can see the Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary, a home of wolves, leopards, and panthers.

Nearest airport is at Udaipur (105 km).
