Kumaraswamy Temple is a small temple dedicated to Lord Muruga
. Situated at Sindupoonturai near Tirunelveli
, the temple dates back about 350 years. The deity, also known by the name Palayam Salai Kumaraswamy, is seated on a peacock along with his consorts Valli and Devayanai. The temple has separate shrines for Siddhi Vinayakar
, Chandikeswarar and Aneeswarar. Inside the prakaram there is a Mayil Mandapam. The annual festivals celebrated here are
, Karthikai Deepam and Vaikasi Visakam. Others include Arudra Darisanam, Maasi Magam and Aadi Pooram. The temple can be accessed from Tirunelveli station by bus or taxi.
