Kulathuppuzha Sastha Temple




Kulathuppuzha Sastha Temple is an ancient shrine of Lord Ayyappa, located at Kulathuppuzha in Kollam District. It is on the Thiruvananthapuram-Shencottai road.

The idol at the temple is known as Manikantan. The temple is believed to have been built by the Raja of Pandalam. A big fair, known as Vishu Mahotsavam, held in the month of April-May is a major draw.

The temple has an impressive location, surrounded by beautiful hills and forests, overlooking a river. Feeding to the fishes in the river is an important offering in the temple.

Kulathuppuzha Temple is about 10 km south of Thenmala Railway Station. Regular buse connects Kulathuppuzha with Kollam.
