Kulakkada is a picturesque village situated on the banks of the Kallada River. Located between Adoor and Kottarakara on M C Road, Kulakkada covers an area of about 29 sq km. The village has numerous open spaces, lush green farmlands, streams and hills. Paddy and coconut are the major agricultural produces from here. Public Health Center, High School, Kerala University Teacher Education Center and Telephone Exchange are the major landmarks of this place. Thazhathu Kulakkada Temple and Nambi Madam are worth visiting.

Kulakkada is about 36 km from Kollam. Kottarakara Railway Station is the nearest railway station. Trivandrum International Airport is the nearest airport.
