Kui Tribe

Kuis are the inhabitants in the hilly Ghat region of Orissa. They are a subgroup of a Dravidian tribe known as the Kond. They speak Kui, a Dravidian language.

Kui are primarily farmers. They dwell in traditionally rectangular houses with wooden plank walls, dirt floors and thatch roofs. Kuis are ardent devotees of Buri and Tari. Ancestral worship is also common in them.
