Kugti Sanctuary




Kugti Sanctuary is around 87 km from Chamba. The sanctuary is situated at an altitude ranging from 2,195 m to 5,040 m.

Vegetation consists of moist deodar forest and western mixed coniferous forest. The sanctuary is home to, snow leopard, ibex, brown langur, common cat, leopard, deer, musk marten, Himalayan yellow throated fox, Indian/red Serow, ghoral, Himalayan thar, monal and snow cock.

May-June and September-October is the ideal season to visit.

Kugti Sanctuary is about 30 km from Bharmaur. To reach, one has to tramp from the Hadsar roadhead to Kugti Village, a distance of about 15 km.

Pathankot Railway Station, about 209 km away, is the nearest railhead.
