Kuda Caves

Kuda Caves is an interesting tourist destination, situated near Kuda in Raigad District. It consists of a series of thirteen Buddhist caves. The first row of grottoes has inscriptions on the walls, while the first and sixth ones have stupas. A rock carved image of an elephant standing guard at the entrance and a column built entirely from the surrounding rock, both in the sixth cave, reflects the architectural splendor of the yester years.
